2011 Renelle's Block Reserve Pinot Noir

Grapes come exclusively from Renelle's Block. Renelle's Block is a beautiful amalgamation of root stocks and clones that contribute to the complexity and vibrancy of the Renelle's Block Reserve. Located on the Southeast side of the vineyard, this block has a due South exposure and has sedimentary soils that range from a high clay component on the south side, to a more sandy composition on the upper end. This block was planted in the Spring of 1999 and is the oldest block on Coeur de Terre Vineyard. Renelle's Block has been farmed organically from its inception and continues to be farmed organically. Tasting Notes: One first notices the deep ruby pigmentation of the wine and hints at the complexity to follow & On the nose, the wine expresses exotic spices, earth, minerals, along with blueberry, vanilla and cola.& On the palate, the wine demonstrates a depth and richness along with flavors of blueberry pie, Indian spice and earth.& The finish lingers with the cola and spice overtones.& Oak is present and nicely integrates with the complex fruit found in Renelle's Block Pinot Noir..
